WORLD BANK SAFEGUARDS TEAM VISITED WAMAKKO-GWAMATSE- KUBODU-DAN KALA ROAD UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
The team was in the State as part of World Bank Safeguards Mission to see things for themselves with regards to issues related to Safeguards along the roads corridor .The Team was led and briefed by Sokoto SPC Engr. Malami Umar Tambuwal together with Sokoto RAAMP Safeguards Officers on Safeguards issues and the way forward. The World Bank Team led by Dr Ahmed Chinade Head Environmental Safeguard and Mrs Fumilayo Head Social Safeguard as well as Abbas Kangiwa Environmental and Mrs Joan sanni Head GBV FPMU draw the attention of the Contractor on some issues on Safeguards and urged him to take necessary measures in addressing such concerns raised and also expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the Contractor handling the Project especially on the use of PPEs by the Contractors’ staff.
